A SERIES OF LECTURES AT AANL BY ALEXANDER KHODJAMIRIAN, PROFESSOR OF SIEGEN UNIVERSITY, GERMANY

On May 12-22, AANL will host Siegen University professor Alexander Khodjamirian. On May 16th, 17th and 18th, at 3:30pm, the scientist will deliver lectures on "Physics of heavy hadrons, basics and news".

Abstract: In the first part the lecturer will introduce basic knowledge about the mesons and baryons containing $c$ and $b$ quarks, explaining their spectroscopy, interactions, production and decay properties in terms of the Standard Model of elementary particles In the second part, will describe some interesting phenomena with these hadrons which are currently observed in modern particle experiments such as LHCb and Belle-II and discuss if they are caused by new physics beyond the theory of Standard Model.

On May 22, at 3:30pm, prof. Alexander Khodjamirian will run a seminar on "Decays of B-meson into dark matter particles".

Abstract: The recently developed B-Mesogenesis cosmological scenario predicts decays of heavy B mesons into a baryon and a hypothetical dark antibaryon. The scientist will present and explain how to calculate the partial widths of these decays, using a method based on the light-cone sum rules in quantum chromodynamics. He will discuss the perspectives to detect these decays at the Belle-II experiment.

Venue: Alikhanyan Brothers 2, Seminar Hall at the Department of Experimental Physics (4th building, 2nd floor), A. Alikhanyan National Science Laboratory (YerPhI), Yerevan

The lectures will be held in a hybrid format via Zoom.
