The Public Radio of Armenia has featured the research carried out by the Radiation Biophysics Group of the A. I. Alikhanyan National Science Laboratory (AANL), focusing on new approaches to overcoming antibiotic resistance.
During the program, Lusine Aloyan, PhD in Physics and Mathematics and Head of the Radiation Biophysics Group, discussed studies on the effects of ionizing radiation on biological objects. She also presented the group's scientific work aimed at improving anticancer treatment methods and developing new therapeutic approaches.
One of the key research directions of the group is the study of antibiotic resistance. The scientists are investigating new substances and methodologies that may contribute to addressing one of the most significant challenges facing modern medicine.
According to Lusine Aloyan, research in this field is being actively pursued worldwide, both through the development of new methods and by improving the effectiveness of existing approaches.
The current studies are being conducted within the framework of a grant program funded by the ANSEF (Armenian National Science and Education Fund). The program aims to support the development of innovative scientific ideas and to expand international scientific collaboration.
