On November 21, Davit Ghazaryan (YSU), Head of the Laboratory of Advanced Functional Materials, presented a seminar at AANL entitled “Optical Properties of Two-Dimensional Materials and Their Heterostructures.”
The presentation was devoted to the study of the optical and optoelectronic properties of two-dimensional (2D) and van der Waals materials. In recent years, this field has become one of the fastest-growing areas of materials science. It is of great importance both for fundamental science and for the design of future nanoscale devices.
During the seminar, the following topics were presented:
anisotropic, topological, and other optical properties of two-dimensional materials,
excitonic, plasmonic, and other light–matter interaction phenomena occurring in these materials,
new physical effects controlled by the twist angle between layers.
