Seminar at AANL on “Photonic Nano- and Microstructures for Advanced Light Manipulation Technologies”

On July 6, a seminar entitled “Photonic Nano- and Microstructures for Advanced Light Manipulation Technologies” was held at the A. I. Alikhanyan National Science Laboratory (AANL). The speaker was Arthur Davoyan, Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

During the seminar, Professor Davoyan presented the latest advances in nanophotonics research aimed at controlling light through subwavelength optical structures and two-dimensional semiconductor materials. He also discussed modern approaches to enhancing nonlinear optical phenomena, as well as techniques for controlling infrared and thermal radiation.

The seminar further explored the applications of nanophotonic devices in space technologies, highlighting their role in the development of advanced space propulsion systems and future space missions.

The event was followed by a visit to various AANL divisions, where participants had the opportunity to learn about ongoing research activities and engage in discussions with representatives of the Laboratory’s scientific groups.
